Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Shift Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair and support equipment on a customer's site within Dematic's scope. You will work to meet Dematic and customer KPI targets, perform AMHE servicing, and diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, electronic, PLC and PC systems.

A NVQ Level 3/ONC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is expected, with IOSH safety desirable. Knowledge of conveyor systems, control systems, and PPM schedules will help you succeed in this role,

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3/ONC in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
  • IOSH working safely (desirable).
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical & electronic manuals & drawings.
  • Basic understanding of control systems and PLC equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair and support equipment on the customer site within the Dematic scope of contract.
  • Primarily ensuring delivery to both Dematic and the Customer’s expectations with the aim of achieving KPI targets at all times.
  • Undertake AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with the quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals.
  • To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices.
  • Diagnosis of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC faults and subsequent repairs.
  • Prioritise system faults.
  • Compliance with Health & Safety legislation at all times.
  • Ensure quality of output at all times.
  • To accurately record all work undertaken.
  • Involvement in continuous improvement and enhancement opportunities.
  • Maintain product flow at all times.
  • Ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and maintain customer relations.
  • Adherence to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company.

Contributing to the Team
  • NVQ Level 3/ONC in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering

  • A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
  • Basic understanding of control systems and problem solving techniques
  • Basic understanding of PLC equipment
  • Working at height experience and willingness
  • Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems
  • Good level of PC literacy
  • Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules
  • Working knowledge of FEM and BS standards governing the automated warehouse industry
  • Have a continuous improvement mentality
