Job summary

Serco Limited is hiring a Maintenance Technician to support Wycombe Hospital and Amersham Hospital in Buckinghamshire. The role is permanent, full-time, with a 40k–45k salary and a structured health services remit across estate systems.

You will perform reactive repairs, preventive maintenance, and safety improvements, ensuring reliable mechanical and electrical building services for patient care areas. Clear communication with supervisors and training are part of the role.

Qualifications

  • A recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship or similar structured training programme.
  • City and Guilds and/or BTEC qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience working in a similar environment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, commissioning, and maintenance on a wide range of plant, systems, and equipment across the hospital estate.
  • Deliver Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) activities safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all relevant Serco policies, workplace regulations, and best practice guidelines.
  • Take a proactive approach to improving health and safety systems, work instructions, and onsite practices.
  • Work responsibly with full regard for your own safety and the safety of others at all times.
  • Communicate promptly with Supervisors or Managers about unresolved defects or required spare parts.
  • Attend onsite and offsite training as required, including preparation for Authorised Person duties (training provided).
