Job summary

Serco Limited in Tunbridge Wells is seeking a Technician to help keep vital building systems running safely and efficiently, ensuring customers enjoy a high-quality leisure environment each day. Your work will support the smooth operation of facilities that bring communities together.

The role covers planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and safety compliance across building services, with a DBS check and a focus on energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• A recognised trade qualification or demonstrable hands-on technical experience.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety practices in maintenance or engineering.
• Experience with building services systems and plant, ideally in leisure settings.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose faults.
• Confidence using digital maintenance systems.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, and reactive repairs across building services systems and plant.
• Support the safe operation and basic maintenance of swimming pool water systems, including monitoring water quality.
• Respond promptly to faults and breakdowns, diagnosing issues and minimising disruption to operations.
• Assist with coordinating and overseeing specialist subcontractors, ensuring compliance with site and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records using computer-aided maintenance systems and compliance logs.
• Support day-to-day technical operations, helping to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable facility performance.

Vetting and checks

This role requires a Basic DBS check, which will disclose any unspent convictions in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
