Job summary

Pin Point Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Sunderland, offering a salary of £44,745.41 per annum. The role involves carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults, and supporting production uptime. Candidates should have an NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or Maintenance and strong experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance. Overtime is available with competitive pay rates. The position operates on a rotating 3-shift system.

Qualifications

• Must possess NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering / Maintenance.
• Strong experience in mechanical & electrical maintenance is required.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned & reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical & electrical faults.
• Maintain critical safety systems; respond to urgent breakdowns.

Overview

Maintenance Technician

Location: Sunderland

Salary £44,745.41 per annum (basic)

Hours: 37 hours per week + overtime available

Shift Pattern (Rotating 3-Shift System)

• Day Shift: Mon-Thu 07:00 – 15:10; Fri 07:00 – 15:05
• Late Shift: Mon-Thu 15:05 – 23:15; Fri 15:05 – 23:10; +16% shift allowance
• Night Shift: Sun 22:00 – 07:05+; Mon-Thu 23:10 – 07:05+; +39% shift allowance

Overtime paid at:

• Day: x1.33
• Late/Night: x1.5

What You'll Do

• Carry out planned & reactive maintenance
• Diagnose and repair mechanical & electrical faults
• Support production uptime and efficiency
• Maintain critical safety systems (E-stops, fire alarms, etc.)
• Order parts & update maintenance records
• Work with external contractors when required
• Respond to urgent breakdowns and support overtime needs

What You'll Need

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering / Maintenance
• Strong mechanical & electrical maintenance experience
• Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities
• Confident decision-making and a proactive attitude
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Desirable (Not Essential)

• Siemens S7 PLC experience
