Job summary

Dematic in the United Kingdom is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support frontline fault finding and routine maintenance on automated material handling equipment. You will follow strict safety procedures, complete work orders, and help the maintenance team keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires a proactive mindset, good communication, and a customer‑focused approach to service delivery on site, including shift work where required.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of mechanical/electrical machinery is desirable.
• Experience in a warehouse or automated environment.
• Good IT skills.
• Strong customer focus and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Carry out first line response to faults and blockages on automated equipment.
• Follow Safe Systems of Work, risk assessments and method statements.
• Receive and complete work orders (planned or reactive).
• Resolve faults within agreed timescales to ensure service delivery.
• Comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times.
• Assist Maintenance Technician with daily maintenance tasks and breakdowns.
• Represent the company professionally and maintain customer relations.
• Contribute to site efficiency and reduce breakdowns.
• Input ideas to improve the team and site.
