Job summary

Landmark Forest Adventure Park in the Aviemore area seeks a hands-on Maintenance Technician to upkeep attractions, machinery, buildings and grounds. You will diagnose faults, carry out repairs and perform regular inspections across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building systems.

The role is full-time, five days a week with weekend work; a strong maintenance background and practical problem-solving are essential, with support for safety checks and records.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a maintenance, technical or relevant trade role.
• Strong practical understanding of maintenance tasks and ability to work independently.
• Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including fault-finding and repair.
• Practical skills in carpentry, plumbing, decorating and building maintenance.
• Experience carrying out planned maintenance and detailed equipment inspections.
• Understanding of routine fire safety checks and importance of keeping records.
• Confidence using hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to read and follow technical manuals and safety procedures.

Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a skilled and practical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Landmark Forest Adventure Park. This full-time, year-round role involves maintaining our attractions, machinery, equipment, buildings and grounds. You will bring a strong understanding of maintenance work, with the ability to diagnose faults, carry out repairs and complete detailed inspections.

Job Description

JOB TITLE:

• Maintenance Technician

RESPONSIBLE TO:

• Maintenance Senior Supervisor

RATE OF PAY:

• £15.15 per hour, plus the Annual Bonus Scheme and other great benefits

TYPE OF ROLE:

• 40 hours per week, working five days out of seven. Weekend working required.

Main Duties

• Maintain the park’s attractions, machinery, equipment, buildings and grounds to a high standard.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs across a range of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building systems.
• Repair and replace electrical installations, fittings and components within your training, competence and authorisation.
• Complete daily checks and more detailed weekly and monthly inspections in accordance with our planned preventative maintenance schedules.
• Assist with annual inspections, servicing and maintenance work.
• Identify defects, record findings accurately and report issues requiring further attention.
• Carry out routine fire safety checks and tests, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, fire doors and visual checks of extinguishers.
• Undertake practical maintenance work, including carpentry, decorating, plumbing and general building repairs.
• Assist with the construction and installation of new attractions, equipment and buildings.
• Keep tools, machinery and maintenance equipment safe, serviceable and well organised.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs and completed maintenance.
• Follow safe working procedures and comply with the park’s health and safety requirements.
• Assist with grounds maintenance, litter picking, restroom servicing and winter duties, including snow clearing and gritting.
• Support the wider team with other reasonable duties as required.

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

• Previous experience in a maintenance, technical or relevant trade role.
• A strong practical understanding of maintenance tasks and the ability to work independently.
• Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including fault-finding and repair.
• Practical skills in areas such as carpentry, plumbing, decorating and building maintenance.
• Experience carrying out planned maintenance and detailed equipment inspections.
• An understanding of routine fire safety checks and the importance of accurate records.
• Confidence using hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment.
• The ability to read and follow technical manuals, maintenance instructions and safe working procedures.
• Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise work.
• Computer skills sufficient to complete maintenance records and use digital inspection systems.
• Clear communication skills and a helpful, professional approach towards colleagues and visitors.
• The ability to recognise when work requires a specialist or further technical support.

Relevant trade or technical qualifications would be an advantage. Applicants should already have a solid foundation of maintenance knowledge and practical experience; training will be provided on the park’s specific attractions, equipment and procedures.
