Job summary

Jelly Technical is recruiting on behalf of a leading food manufacturer for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join their modern production facility in Preston. The role offers a structured development programme and a rotating 12-hour shift pattern that provides two long weekends every four weeks.

You will maintain H&S, food safety and GMP compliance, lead shift handovers, and drive proactive and reactive maintenance across production areas. Training and enhanced benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Qualified to apprenticeship level or above (electrical or mechanical).
• Experience in maintenance within automated manufacturing, preferably food/FMCG.
• Experience in a supervisory/mentor/coordinator role within maintenance.
• Strong technical skills and familiarity with CMMS systems and MS Office tools.
• Analytical and systematic approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, Food Safety, and GMP compliance.
• Ensure effective shift coordination & handovers and provide leadership visibility.
• Delegate planned maintenance duties effectively and ensure breakdowns are prioritised to ensure minimum disruption.
• Work effectively with other operations teams to improve machinery availability and minimise downtime.
• Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance support across all production areas.
• Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues.
• Diagnose and resolve breakdowns efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Highlight areas for performance improvement and reliability across the site.

As a Maintenance Supervisor your key responsibilities include:

What You'll Bring:

• Qualified to apprenticeship level or above (electrical or mechanical)

• Experience in a supervisory / mentor / coordinator role within maintenance
• Strong technical skills and familiarity with CMMS systems and MS Office tools

• Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced production environment
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
