Jelly Technical is recruiting on behalf of a leading food manufacturer in Preston to join their modern production facility as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. The role emphasizes proactive and reactive maintenance to keep a 24/7 operation running smoothly.

The candidate should have an apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical fields and experience with CMMS and MS Office. Salary ranges from £51,000 to £53,500 with a 12-hour day pattern that rotates to provide two long weekends every four

Qualifications

• Qualified to apprenticeship level or above (electrical or mechanical).
• Experience in maintenance within automated manufacturing is preferred, food/FMCG advantageous.
• Strong technical skills with CMMS and MS Office familiarity.
• Analytical and systematic approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Health & Safety, Food Safety and GMP compliance.
• Provide proactive and reactive maintenance across production areas.
• Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and troubleshoot issues.
• Diagnose and resolve breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Identify opportunities to improve site performance and reliability.

As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer your key responsibilities include:

• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, Food Safety, and GMP compliance.
• Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance support across all production areas.
• Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues.
• Diagnose and resolve breakdowns efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Highlight areas for performance improvement and reliability across the site.

What You'll Bring:

• Qualified to apprenticeship level or above (electrical or mechanical).
• Experienced in a maintenance role within automated manufacturing with food / FMCG being advantageous but not essential.
• Strong technical skills and familiarity with CMMS systems and MS Office tools.
• Analytical and systematic approach to problem-solving.
