Job summary

Stannah Group based in Newburn, Newcastle, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance and facilities team across production and site operations.

You will coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, manage refurbishment projects, monitor equipment performance and ensure safety standards are met, with a view to minimising downtime and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities and production maintenance (PPM and reactive)
• Proven team leadership experience
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations (COSHH, LOLER, PUWER, RAMS)
• Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and planning skills
• Qualification in engineering, maintenance, facilities or building services with supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritise planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance activities.
• Supervise and coach Maintenance and Facilities Engineering team.
• Manage refurbishment and facilities improvement projects in line with safety requirements.
• Monitor equipment performance, analyse breakdown trends, support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime.
• Oversee contractor activities, ensuring safety, quality and value for money.

Maintenance Supervisor - Join Our Team!

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance supervisor to join Stannah Stairlifts Limited based in Newburn, Newcastle.

This role will involve coordinating maintenance activities across production and site facilities, supervising a team of Maintenance and Facilities Engineers, managing maintenance projects, and ensuring all maintenance and facilities work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with business requirements.

Maintenance Supervisor Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritise planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance activities, and production support requirements.
• Supervise and provide technical support, coaching, and day‑to‑day direction to the Maintenance and Facilities Engineering team.
• Manage refurbishment, property alteration, and facilities improvement projects in line with business and safety requirements.
• Monitor equipment performance, analyse breakdown trends, and support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime.
• Oversee contractor activities, ensuring compliance, quality of work, safety standards, and value for money.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within facilities and production maintenance, including planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Proven experience in managing a team.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations including COSHH, LOLER, PUWER, RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work.
• Strong fault‑finding, problem‑solving, planning, prioritisation, and maintenance record management skills.
• Relevant engineering, maintenance, facilities, or building services qualification, with supervisory or team leadership experience.

Other Information

This is a permanent contract. Work 37 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:45, Friday 08:00 to 13:00.
