Job summary

The Housing Network is seeking an experienced Maintenance Operative to join our growing team in Manchester. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with responsibilities across void properties, common areas, and responsive maintenance to support vulnerable residents.

You will perform basic carpentry, painting and decorating, plumbing and electrical tasks, and help maintain safe, high-quality accommodation.

Qualifications

• Experience as a maintenance operative in accommodation-based settings.
• Ability to perform basic carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical tasks.
• Capable of renovating void properties to high standards.
• Willing to travel between properties within a regional area.
• DBS check will be completed as part of the employment process.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled work on void properties to high standard.
• Travel between properties within the region.
• Oversee maintenance of common areas.
• Perform basic carpentry including door hanging and locks.
• Paint and decorate; handle basic plumbing and electrical work.
• Ensure garden areas are clear and well-maintained.
