Job summary

The Housing Network (THN) in Coventry is seeking an experienced Maintenance Operative to join our growing team. You will carry out scheduled maintenance on void properties, travel between properties within a region, and oversee common areas to keep accommodation safe and high quality.

You will perform basic carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical tasks, maintain gardens, and enjoy benefits including a £35,000 salary, 23 days of annual leave, Blue Light Card and other staff schemes.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance within housing or similar environments.
• Ability to carry out domestic repair tasks to a high standard.
• Reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled work on void properties to a high standard.
• Travel between properties within a region to perform maintenance.
• Oversee maintenance of common areas and ensure safety.
• Perform basic carpentry, door hanging and lock changes.
• Carry out painting, basic plumbing and electrical tasks.

Full Time: Monday to Friday 9AM-5:30PM

We are looking for experienced and passionate people to help us support vulnerable individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

If you are an experienced Maintenance Operative, working in an accommodation-based setting, helping to maintain a great service for those who need us most, this could be the role for you!

• Looking for an opportunity to use your skills, experience and commitment to transform the lives of highly vulnerable people
• Experienced working with all aspects of responsive property as well as planned maintenance, providing safe accommodation for vulnerable individuals and families

What you’ll be doing:

• Carry out scheduled work on void properties to bring back up to a high standard and in accordance with the Council’s targets prescribed in the contract
• Travelling from property to property within a specific region
• Oversee maintenance of common areas
• Basic carpentry, including door hanging and changing locks
• Painting and decorating, basic plumbing and electrical work
• Ensure the garden area is clear including fencing
