Job summary

The Housing Network is seeking an experienced Maintenance Operative for North Northamptonshire. You will carry out scheduled and responsive property maintenance, including carpentry, painting, basic plumbing and electrical work, and help keep common areas safe and well presented.

This full-time role, Monday to Friday 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, offers £35,000 salary, 23 days' annual leave, and the chance to support vulnerable residents in a growing organisation committed to better accommodation and

  • Travel between properties within a region.
  • Oversee maintenance of common areas.
  • Basic carpentry, door hanging and lock changes.
  • Painting, basic plumbing and electrical work.
  • Ensure garden areas are clear and secure.

Maintenance Operative – North Northamptonshire

If you are an experienced Maintenance Operative, working in an accommodation-based setting, helping to maintain a great service for those who need us most, this could be the role for you!

  • Looking for an opportunity to use your skills, experience and commitment to transform the lives of highly vulnerable people
  • Experienced working with all aspects of responsive property as well as planned maintenance, providing safe accommodation for vulnerable individuals and families
What you’ll be doing:
  • Carry out scheduled work on void properties to bring back up to a high standard and in accordance with the Council’s targets prescribed in the contract
  • Travelling from property to property within a specific region
  • Oversee maintenance of common areas
  • Basic carpentry, including door hanging and changing locks
  • Painting and decorating, basic plumbing and electrical work
  • Ensure the garden area is clear including fencing
What you’ll receive:
  • Salary - £35,000
  • 23 days of annual leave
