Job summary

Cygnet Kenney House in Oldham is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our team. You will provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service across the site, covering basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work to keep the environment safe for residents and staff.

This Full Time, 42 hours per week role requires a driving licence and the ability to travel between sites. You will log maintenance information accurately and work with a proactive, team-oriented approach to

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar maintenance role or self-employed work in recent years.
• Full driving licence is required.
• Able to communicate at all levels and record detailed maintenance information.
• Skilled at DIY and general maintenance, with a proactive attitude.
• Preferably experience in electrical/plumbing/construction tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service across the site.
• Carry out tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work.
• Maintain equipment, services and vehicles and report faults or hazards.
• Travel to other sites and be on call for emergency repairs outside normal hours.
• Check fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits and emergency lights.

From carrying out repairs and routine maintenance to helping maintain a high-quality social care environment, you'll play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the service and contributing to positive service user experiences.Cygnet Kenney House is our hospital for women, located in Oldham. The services provide a safe and secure care pathway for women with mental health need and are now open.We have collaborated with the NHS to develop services to support women from the North West to be treated closer to home. There are three wards at Cygnet Kenney House; Billington Ward, a 12 bed specialist Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Baldock Ward, a 16 bed Acute service and Harben Ward, a 16 bed mental health rehabilitation and recovery service.Your Day-to-Day...• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service• Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work• Maintain equipment, services & vehicles• Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards• Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights.You are...• Experienced in a similar role, or have worked in a self-employed capacity in recent years• Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence• Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information• Skilled at DIY & general maintenance• Preferably experienced in the electrical/plumbing/construction industry• Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude.Why Cygnet?
