Job summary

Cygnet Group is seeking a confident Maintenance Operative to join Cygnet Nield House in Crewe. You will perform day-to-day maintenance tasks to keep the hospital safe and functional, including joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work, and you may travel to other sites as needed.

The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a duty to check fire safety points and respond to emergencies. An enhanced DBS check will be required.

Qualifications

• Experienced in a similar role or self-employed in recent years.
• Willing to travel and hold a full valid driving licence.
• Able to communicate at all levels and record detailed maintenance information.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
• Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
• Maintain equipment, services & vehicles
• Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards
• Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights.

We are looking for a confident Maintenance Operative to carry out a range of day-to-day maintenance tasks in order to ensure the hospital is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order, making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Cygnet Nield House.

You will be working full time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Cygnt Nield House is a 29-bed mental health hospital for women.

The hospital is split into two distinct wards, each offering specialist mental health services: Clarion Ward: a 14 bed complex personality disorder service for women with a dual diagnosis of personality disorder and co-morbid disordered eating.

Compton Ward: a 15 bed acute service for women.

The service provides a safe and stabilising environment for women who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission.

Your Day-to-Day...

You are...

• Experienced in a similar role, or have worked in a self-employed capacity in recent years
• Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence
• Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance informationSkilled at DIY & general maintenance
• Preferably experienced in the electrical/plumbing/construction industry
• Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude.
