Cygnet is seeking a Maintenance Operative at Brant Broughton. You will perform day-to-day maintenance on the building, services and grounds to keep the home safe and functional.

We value hands-on skills in carpentry, plumbing, decorating, and basic wiring. A driving license is required; City & Guilds qualifications are preferred.

Formación

• Previous maintenance/building contracting experience.
• Experience repairing equipment, painting, plumbing and carpentry.
• Full driving license and access to own car.
• Preferrable City & Guilds qualification in carpentry or plumbing.
• Working knowledge of health and safety requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake day-to-day maintenance and remedial works to keep building, plant and services in order.
• Carry out basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building tasks.
• Ensure equipment is clean and well maintained.
• Adhere to safe working practices and report hazards
• Check fire alarm points weekly and test portable appliances as required

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Assistant with a passion for making a difference to others.

You’ll be working full time 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm carrying out day-to-day maintenance tasks on the fabric of the building, it's services and grounds in order to ensure the home is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order.

Broughton House is a 29 bed specialist residential service for adults with severe learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that challenge.

No specific qualifications needed however applicants will need to have a general background of maintenance work i.e. carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating and must be a car driver.

Your Day-to-Day

• Undertake day-to-day maintenance and planned remedial works to keep building, plant, and services in working order, keeping records of call-outs and routine checks as directed.
• Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
• Ensure all equipment used is clean and well maintained.
• Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards
• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights
• Test and record all portable appliances as specified in Group procedures

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a team and on your own in a maintenance / building contractors role
• Previous experience of repairing of various equipment and materials, painting, decorating, plumbing, carpentry and basic wiring work.
• Full driving license and own car
• Preferably hold a City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in Carpentry or plumbing.
• A working knowledge of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
• A good practical knowledge in basic plumbing would be an advantage
