Job summary

Cygnet Group is seeking a Maintenance Operative at Cygnet Hospital Bury Hudson to help provide a safe, well-maintained environment for people in care. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, with duties spanning comprehensive maintenance, basic joinery and plumbing, and keeping equipment and vehicles in good order.

You will be responsible for safety checks, reporting faults, and may be required to travel to other sites or cover emergency repairs outside normal hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role or self-employed in recent years.
• Full valid UK driving licence.
• Able to communicate at all levels and record detailed maintenance information.
• Skilled at DIY and general maintenance.
• Preferably experienced in electrical/plumbing/construction industries.
• Friendly, conscientious and a good team member.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service.
• Carry out basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work.
• Maintain equipment, services and vehicles.
• Check fire alarm points weekly and ensure safety of exits and equipment.
• Travel to other sites and be on call for emergencies outside normal hours.

We are looking for a skilled MaintenanceOperative with a passion for making a difference to others.

You'll be working full time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) at Cygnet Hospital Bury Hudson, helping provide a safe and healthy environment for the people in our care

Cygnet Bury Hudson providesa wide range of securemental health services for men including individuals with a diagnosis of personality disorder.

Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.

Your Day-to-Day...

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
• Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
• Maintain equipment, services & vehicles
• Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards
• Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights.

You are...

• Experienced in a similar role, or have worked in a self-employed capacity in recent years
• Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence
• Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information
• Skilled at DIY & general maintenance
• Preferably experienced in the electrical/plumbing/construction industry
• Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude.
