Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Ealing is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all routine maintenance, repair and installation work on site and supervise Maintenance Operatives.

You will work 37.5 hours per week, based in a hospital setting, with standard Monday–Friday hours (8am–4pm) or (9am–5pm). The role involves managing external contractors, ensuring safety, compliance and efficient operations within budget.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing facilities and services.
• Will travel and hold a full valid driving licence.
• Able to communicate at all levels and record detailed maintenance information.
• Experienced in the management of teams.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage the performance of the external contractors providing hard and soft facilities management services to Cygnet Hospital Ealing.
• To support the Hospital Manager with collation of information for statutory returns such as Controls assurance standards and H&S risk assessment audits.
• Prepare briefs, specification of works, environmental reports and local operational manuals to ensure adequate training for stakeholders in the operation of the building.
• Ensure compliance with legal duties under major health and safety regulations and related acts.
• Lead Emergency planning liaison and coordinate major incident and emergency planning for the Hospital.
• Ensure facilities function is managed within delegated budgets, enabling close monitoring.

We are looking for an experience and hands on Maintenance Manager to oversee all routine maintenance, repair and installation work completed on site, ensuring that it is carried out efficiently and within budget and to supervise the Maintenance Operatives.

Cygnet Hospital Ealing provides a welcoming, non-institutional environment, offering personalised treatment for service users with an eating disorder or personality disorder over two separate wards.

Your Day-to-Day...

• Effectively manage the performance of the external contractors providing hard and soft facilities management services (Including Planned preventative maintenance, small works & capital projects, security, pest control, grounds and garden maintenance, window cleaning, waste management) to Cygnet Hospital Ealing.
• To support the Hospital Manager with collation of information for all statutory returns such as Controls assurance standards and H&S risk assessment audits.
• Prepare briefs, specification of works, environmental reports and local operational manuals to ensure adequate training for stakeholders in the operation of the building.
• Ensure compliance with the Company's legal duties under Construction & Design Management Act 1994, Fire precautions Act, Health and Safety at work act, RIDDOR, COSHH, Water regulations, Workplaces (health and safety and welfare) regulations 1992, Control of asbestos regulations, Electricity at work, Lifts and other
• The post holder will support the Hospital manager as lead Emergency planning liaison officer in the development and co-ordination of all aspects of major incident and emergency planning for the Hospital. The post holder will also facilitate and support the Company's response to major incidents and emergencies.
• Ensure that the facilities function is managed within agreed delegated budgets, ensuring efficient and effective systems and procedures to enable close monitoring.
