Job summary

Cygnet Nield House in Crewe is seeking a confident Maintenance Operative to perform day-to-day maintenance tasks, ensuring the hospital remains safe and functional for residents.

You will work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with travel to other sites and occasional on-call duties. Applicants should have DIY skills, a driving licence, and be able to record maintenance details accurately. DBS check required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Full valid driving licence.
• Able to communicate clearly and record maintenance details.
• Willing to travel to other sites and on-call when required.
• Successful candidates will undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
• Carry out tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
• Maintain equipment, services & vehicles
• Comply with safe working practices & report faults
• Travel to other sites & be on call for emergency repairs
• Check fire alarm points weekly and monitor safety systems

We are looking for a confidentMaintenance Operativeto carry out a range of day-to-day maintenance tasks in order to ensure the hospital is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order, making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care atCygnet Nield House. You will be working full time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Cygnt Nield Houseis a 29-bed mental health hospital for women. The hospital is split into two distinct wards, each offering specialist mental health services: Clarion Ward:a14 bed complex personality disorder service for women with a dual diagnosis of personality disorder and co-morbid disordered eating.Compton Ward:a 15 bed acute service for women. The service provides a safe and stabilising environment for women who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission.

Your Day-to-Day...

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
• Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
• Maintain equipment, services & vehicles
• Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards
• Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights.

You are...

• Experienced in a similar role, or have worked in a self-employed capacity in recent years
• Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence
• Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information
• Skilled at DIY & general maintenance
• Preferably experienced in the electrical/plumbing/construction industry
• Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude.
