Job summary

Avon Court Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is hiring a Maintenance Operative to keep the home safe and fully functional. You will perform repairs, inspections and installations across the building and grounds, coordinating with the Home Manager as needed.

The role requires hands-on maintenance skills, reliability, and a proactive approach to safety and upkeep, with enhanced DBS and uniform provided as part of benefits.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • A proactive and practical approach.
  • Reliable, organised and able to problem solve.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and fully operational at all times. This is a hands on role with responsibility, where your practical skills and proactive approach will directly support the safety, comfort and overall environment.

You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action.

Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination where required. You will help maintain a well organised, safe and fully functional environment, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards.
