Job summary

Avon Court Care Home in Chippenham is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment and to support laundry services, ensuring residents' rooms and communal areas meet high hygiene standards.

You will follow infection control procedures, work as part of a team, and contribute to residents' comfort and daily wellbeing in a role with opportunities for development and progression.

About Avon Court Care Home

Avon Court Care Home is a 56 bed care home located in Chippenham, Wiltshire. Providing nursing and residential care, the home offers a warm and welcoming environment where colleagues work together to deliver high quality, person centred care and make a real difference to the lives of Residents every day.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract
  • £13.45 to £13.95 per hour
  • Contracted to 24 hours per week
  • Paid [PVG/DBS], pension, uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
