Our elite, charming residential aged care facility, Guildford Village, has been caring for the elderly in the Perth community since 1982. Guildford Village strives to feel like home for its residents and our staff are tasked with caring for residents as they would for their own family. Our experience in service delivery is reflected through 40 years of maintaining the highest of standards for our clients.

Our Maintenance Officer provides quality maintenance and gardening services to the Guildford Village facility, hostel and surrounding grounds. You will be responsible for typical duties such as maintaining garden beds, lawn mowing, reticulation maintenance, overseeing maintenance contractors, pruning, window cleaning and anything else of a similar nature that is required. In providing these services to the facility, you will play a crucial role in providing comfort to our residents and creating a homely environment for them.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Procuring maintenance services/equipment and overseeing the work of contractors.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Updating records and keeping stock for all required chemicals/equipment.
• Identifying potential hazards/risks and taking preventative actions to address them.
• Fertilising and aerating lawns. Trimming and pruning trees.
• Maintenance and cleaning for the windows, entrances/exits and car park.
• Contributing towards a customer service experience for the residents.

This role is being hired on a permanent full-time basis and is located at the Guildford Village

Skills, Attributes and Experience

We are hoping to find someone who has significant maintenance/gardening experience and who feels comfortable and familiar with performing these types of duties. We are also hoping to find someone who has a comprehensive understanding of facility services/equipment relating to gas, water and power. Most importantly, you will be prepared to go above and beyond to best assist the facility and able to impress the residents with your end product and customer service skills.

• Previous experience working within a health/aged care organisation is desirable but not essential.
• Trade qualifications in a relevant field are desirable but not essential.
