Assistant Maintenance Manager - Reading - Up to £34,000
A new opportunity has opened for an Assistant Maintenance Manager to join a well-established hotel operation in Reading. This is a hands-on, on-site role ideal for a technically skilled professional ready to support the maintenance management function and contribute to a high-quality guest experience.
The Assistant Maintenance Manager will assist in the smooth running of daily maintenance tasks, ensuring building systems are compliant, operational, and presented to the highest standards. This position suits someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, has a practical mindset, and pays close attention to detail.
Support the Group Maintenance Manager in all aspects of hotel upkeep and safety.
Carry out routine maintenance, including basic electrical and plumbing tasks.
Assist in managing Health & Safety compliance across the property.
Monitor and maintain systems including water management (Legionella awareness essential).
Maintain accurate records and ensure timely updates to the maintenance log.
Supervise contractors, ensuring correct sign-in procedures and task delivery.
Communicate effectively with hotel leadership and team members regarding maintenance priorities.
At least 2 years of experience in a hotel or facilities maintenance role.
Strong understanding of COSHH regulations and Health & Safety standards.
Confident in reading technical manuals and using maintenance equipment.
Hands-on experience with electrical tools and small repairs.
Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
Preferred candidates will have at least 1 year of direct hotel maintenance experience, though this is not essential.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Reading, offering a salary of up to £34,000. The Assistant Maintenance Manager will work closely with the General Manager to ensure all operational needs are met swiftly and effectively.
