Job summary

Away Resorts is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for Sandy Balls Holiday Village to lead the Park Services team in maintaining accommodation and park facilities. You will monitor Landscaping standards and allocate maintenance tasks, ensuring timely repairs and high craft standards.

You’ll drive Budgets and safety practices, collaborating with trades on changeovers and ensuring weekend and bank holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience managing trades and general assistants.
• Experience in property maintenance, construction and facilities management.
• Understanding of Budgets, P&L, Purchase and ordering systems.
• Health & Safety at work knowledge.
• GCSE level education or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Maintenance team to keep accommodation and park in good order.
• Allocate maintenance jobs, from bulbs to locks and key cutting.
• Carry out maintenance checks on changeover days with other tradespeople.
• Ensure jobs are completed with a can-do, proactive approach.
• Support guests and staff by fixing issues and restoring order.
• Work bank holidays, evenings and weekends as required.

Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Salary: £27,500 per annum, OTE of £55,000

Hours of work:Permanent Contract - 40 hours per week

Salary:£36,000 per annum

Must hold a full UK drivers license

What we need in a nutshell

We need someone who will keep our accommodation, and the holiday park, in tip-top condition and looking spectacular, repairing, maintaining, renewing, and improving everything from the entrance signage to the back fence. You will lead the Park Services team to help make sure that the department runs seamlessly.

But New Forest holidays are also about tranquillity, which is why our Retreat spa and cosy, cottage-style lodges and caravans are here to help our guests unwind.

What you will be doing

As part of our team of holiday heroes, you will manage the Maintenance team to ensure everything is in good working order. Your work will include:

• Monitoring that the Landscaping is to our high standards
• Allocating maintenance jobs; everything from replacing light bulbs to troubleshooting faulty locks and cutting keys
• Carrying out maintenance checks and repairs on changeover days, working with other tradespeople when necessary
• Genuine drive to see the jobs through to completion
• Pretty much anything else that other people can’t do!

Guests and staff will look to you to fix what’s broken and restore order, so you will need to be confident, friendly and obliging in addition to your practical skills.

One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays, evenings and weekends too.

Skills, experience, and qualities you’ll need

We will train you, but you’ll need to have the following skills and experience to apply for this role:

• Experience of managing a team of trades and general assistants
• Experience in property maintenance, construction and facilities management Understanding of Budgets, P&L, Purchase and ordering systems
• An understanding of Health & Safety at work
• A good standard of education, ideally to GCSE standard or equivalent
• Driving licence is essential
