Job summary

The Torridon, a five-star boutique resort on the shores of Loch Torridon in the Scottish Highlands, is seeking a practical, hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function across the resort. This is a key leadership role to keep buildings, facilities, and guest areas safe, smart, and running smoothly.

You will manage day-to-day maintenance, plan preventative works, and work closely with every department to minimise disruption and support an exceptional guest and team experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance management or facilities management in a service-led environment.
• Strong practical maintenance knowledge and sound technical judgement.
• Experience leading or coordinating a small team.
• Able to plan work, prioritise tasks and respond calmly to urgent issues.
• Clear communication with colleagues, managers, contractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and motivate the maintenance team to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality work.
• Plan, manage and record preventative maintenance across the resort.
• Respond promptly to faults, repairs and guest-impacting maintenance issues.
• Maintain guest areas, back-of-house spaces, team accommodation, plant rooms and outdoor facilities to a high standard.
• Work with all departments to agree priorities and minimise disruption.
• Manage contractors, suppliers, maintenance stock, tools and records.
• Support Health and Safety, fire safety and compliance checks.
• Identify improvements that support sustainability and asset care.

Job Description

We are looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function across The Torridon. This is a key leadership role for someone who enjoys solving problems, keeping standards high and ensuring our buildings, facilities, team accommodation, plant, equipment and guest areas are safe, smart and running smoothly.

You will manage day-to-day maintenance, plan preventative works, respond quickly to issues and work closely with every department to minimise disruption and support an exceptional guest and team experience.

• Lead, support and motivate the maintenance team to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality work.
• Plan, manage and record preventative maintenance across the resort.
• Respond promptly to faults, repairs and guest-impacting maintenance issues.
• Maintain guest areas, back-of-house spaces, team accommodation, plant rooms, equipment and outdoor facilities to a high standard.
• Work closely with all departments to agree priorities, communicate progress and minimise operational disruption.
• Manage contractors, suppliers, maintenance stock, tools and records effectively.
• Support Health and Safety, fire safety, statutory inspections, compliance checks and safe systems of work.
• Identify practical improvements that support sustainability, energy efficiency and long-term asset care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance management, facilities management, estates, building services or a similar role.
• Strong practical maintenance knowledge and sound technical judgement.
• Experience leading, supervising or coordinating a small team.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to plan work, prioritise tasks and respond calmly to urgent issues.
• Clear communication skills and confidence working with colleagues, managers, contractors and suppliers.
• A strong understanding of safe working practices, compliance requirements and record keeping.
• Experience in hospitality, accommodation, leisure, tourism or another service-led environment would be an advantage.
