Job summary

Barchester Healthcare Homes Limited is recruiting a Head of Maintenance to keep our care home environment safe, welcoming and well-maintained for residents and staff. You will manage a maintenance team, fix issues and liaise with contractors to ensure quality work.

You’ll lead preventative maintenance, support annual budget planning with the General Manager, and demonstrate reliable, flexible hours while ensuring high standards of care and safety across the home.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience of property maintenance.
• At least one trade skill.
• Reliable and flexible with working hours.
• Full UK driving licence, IT literacy and GCSEs in Maths and English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and well-maintained care home environment and gardens.
• Lead the maintenance team and support the General Manager with annual budget planning.
• Liaise with contractors for work outside the team’s expertise.
• Handle a variety of tasks from plumbing to garden work and ensure resident well-being.
