Job summary

Barchester Healthcare Homes Limited is seeking a Head of Maintenance to ensure a clean, well-maintained environment across a care home, supporting residents and staff. The role involves hands-on building and grounds work, leadership of the team, and collaboration with the General Manager on annual budget planning.

You will coordinate contractor work, maintain safe operations, and promote a warm, welcoming atmosphere as part of delivering high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience of property maintenance.
• At least one trade skill.
• Reliable and flexible with working hours.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Maintain care home environment and gardens, addressing a range of tasks.
• Lead a maintenance team and support the General Manager with budget planning.
• Liaise with contractors for jobs outside the team’s scope.
