Job summary

Barchester Healthcare Homes Limited is seeking a Head of Maintenance for one of our care homes. You will lead a maintenance team, ensure a clean and welcoming environment for residents, and manage a wide range of building tasks including grounds work.

The role requires hands-on skills, leadership, and collaboration with contractors to deliver reliable facilities. You will also support the General Manager with annual budgeting and oversee cost control while maintaining high standards of care and

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience of property maintenance
• Ability to lead a team and work independently
• Reliable and flexible working hours
• Full UK driving licence required
• GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance team within the care home and ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment
• Coordinate with contractors and manage tasks outside the in-house team
• Support the General Manager with annual budget planning and cost control
• Oversee maintenance tasks across buildings and gardens/grounds
• Liaise with residents and staff to address upkeep needs and improve facilities
