Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Somerset to join a leading manufacturer. Salary ranges £45,500–£47,500 with Mon-Fri hours and an early finish on Fridays. Benefits include 33 days holiday, progression opportunities, and an annual bonus scheme.

The role involves planned maintenance, safety checks, plant monitoring, SOP generation, defect reporting, and supporting production and CI projects across valves and pumps.

Qualifications

• Formal engineering qualification required (C&G Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship)
• Experience or knowledge of continuous improvement
• Strong knowledge of good engineering standards

Responsibilities

• Plan maintenance inspections and review parts used
• Recommend improvements aligned with projects and schedules; perform safety checks
• Monitor plant conditions; report defects and repair machinery
• Generate and maintain SOPs and risk assessments
• Report plant performance and address non-conformances
• Work on valves and pumps; support production and CI projects

Our client is a leading manufacturer that is dedicated to producing products thats quality is recognised as second to none. With a strong order book and over £9mill of investment going into the factory & growth into various export markets they are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team.

Role & Responsibilities

• Planned Maintenance inspections, review parts used
• Recommend improvements in line with projects and maintenance schedules, carry out safety checks on range of equipment
• Monitor plant conditions, report defects, repair of machinery
• Generate and maintain compliance to SOP's, risk assessments
• Report on plant performance using systems, ensure action on non-conformance issues
• Working on a range of valves & Pumps
• Supporting production & continuous improvement projects

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Formal Engineering Qualification - C&G Level 3, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship trained
• Continuous improvement knowledge
• Strong knowledge of good engineering standards
• Experience in food, packaging, drink, manufacturing environments
