Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Wincanton, Somerset. The role offers a salary of £45,500–£47,000, Monday to Friday with an early finish on Fridays.

The ideal candidate will have a formal engineering qualification (C&G Level 3/NVQ Level 3 or apprenticeship), continuous improvement knowledge, and experience in manufacturing

Qualifications

• Formal engineering qualification at C&G Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 or apprenticeship.
• Continuous improvement knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards.
• Experience in food, packaging, or drink manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Planned maintenance inspections, review parts used.
• Recommend improvements in line with projects and maintenance schedules, carry out safety checks on equipment.
• Monitor plant conditions, report defects, repair machinery.
• Generate and maintain SOPs and risk assessments.
• Report on plant performance and drive actions on non-conformance issues.
• Work on valves and pumps.
• Support production and continuous improvement projects.

Our client is a leading manufacturer that is dedicated to producing products that's quality is recognised as second to none. With a strong order book and over £9mill of investment going into the factory & growth into various export markets they are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Planned Maintenance inspections, review parts used
• Recommend improvements in line with projects and maintenance schedules, carry out safety checks on range of equipment
• Monitor plant conditions, report defects, repair of machinery
• Generate and maintain compliance to SOP's, risk assessments
• Report on plant performance using systems, ensure action on non-conformance issues
• Working on a range of valves & Pumps
• Supporting production & continuous improvement projects

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Formal Engineering Qualification - C&G Level 3, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship trained
• Continuous improvement knowledge
• Strong knowledge of good engineering standards
• Experience in food, packaging, drink, manufacturing environments
