Job summary

Premier Foods in Barnsley recruits a Maintenance Engineer to join our site. You will maintain and improve manufacturing equipment across the plant, ensuring high quality output and minimal downtime.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, reporting, and implementing maintenance activities to support production plans. The successful candidate will have an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent, experience in automated manufacturing, and be proficient with servo or inverter-driven systems.

Qualifications

• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent
• Experience in automated manufacturing environments
• Experience of programming, fault finding and repair of servo or inverter driven systems
• Practical knowledge of CI tools and techniques
• Working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic manuals & drawings

Responsibilities

• Ensure that plant and equipment systems perform to manufacture product efficiently to high-quality standards
• To implement maintenance activities, ensuring that the manufacturing team achieve full compliance to the production plan, by minimising engineering downtime
• To support manufacturing and engineering functions ensuring maximum utilisation of engineering equipment to achieve KPIs and optimal line efficiency within safety, quality & environmental policies
• Critical spare parts identification for assets across site
• To support manufacturing team through the Daily and Short Interval Control (SIC) meeting structure to achieve efficient close out of tasks and improve line availability
