Premier foods is hiring a Maintenance Engineer for our Barnsley site. You will join a proactive team, maintaining and improving a range of manufacturing equipment to support safe, efficient production.

The role requires an apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification, experience in automated environments, and capability in servo/inverter fault finding. Onsite responsibilities include problem solving and supporting daily production plans.

Qualifications

• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in engineering.
• Experience in automated manufacturing environments.
• Experience programming, fault finding and repair of Servo or inverter driven systems.
• Practical knowledge of CI tools and techniques.
• A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic manuals & drawings.

Responsabilités

• Ensure plant and equipment perform to manufacture product efficiently to high-quality standards.
• Implement maintenance activities to minimise downtime and meet the production plan.
• Support engineering and manufacturing to maximise utilisation of equipment and KPI achievement.
• Identify critical spare parts for assets across site.
• Support SIC meeting structure to close out tasks and improve line availability.

A full time, permanent opportunity has arisen at our Barnsley site for a Maintenance Engineer to join the team.You will be a fully engaged team member, with flexibility to efficiently problem solve, report, maintain and improve a variety of manufacturing equipment across site.

The successful candidate will:

• Ensure that plant and equipment systems perform to manufacture product efficiently to high-quality standards;
• To implement maintenance activities, ensuring that the manufacturing team achieve full compliance to the production plan, by minimising engineering downtime;
• To support the engineering and manufacturing functions ensuring maximum utilisation of engineering equipment in order to achieve KPIs and optimal line efficiency within the company safety, quality & environmental policies;
• Critical spare parts identification for assets across site;
• To support manufacturing team through the dailyand Short Interval Control (SIC) meeting structure to achieve efficient and effective close out of tasks to improve line availability.

What we need from you:

• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in engineering for example - Level 3 Electrical/electronic engineering or similar;
• Previous experience of automated manufacturing environments;
• Experience of programming, fault finding and repair of Servo or inverter driven systems;
• Practical knowledge of CI tools and techniques;
• A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
