Job summary

Premier Foods seeks a Maintenance Engineer for its Barnsley site. The role involves maintaining and improving manufacturing equipment, ensuring production plans are met, and minimizing downtime.

You will work in a team to troubleshoot and optimise plant performance across multiple lines. The successful candidate will have an apprenticeship or equivalent in engineering, experience with automated manufacturing, and familiarity with servo/inverter systems, CI tools, and technical manuals.

Qualifications

• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent in engineering.
• Experience in automated manufacturing environments.
• Experience programming, fault finding and repair of servo/inverter driven systems.
• Practical knowledge of CI tools and techniques.
• Working understanding of mechanical/electrical/electronic manuals & drawings.

Responsibilities

• Ensure plant and equipment systems perform to manufacture product efficiently to high-quality standards.
• Implement maintenance activities to minimise downtime and meet production plan.
• Support engineering and manufacturing to maximise utilization and line efficiency within safety, quality and environmental policies.
• Identify critical spare parts for assets across site.
• Support daily and SIC meetings to close out tasks and improve line availability.
