Premier Foods is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for their Barnsley site, a full-time permanent role. You will maintain and improve manufacturing equipment, support production plans and help maximise line availability while complying with safety and quality policies.

Applicants should have an engineering apprenticeship or ONC/HNC, with experience in automated environments and servo/inverter fault-finding. Onsite benefits include parking and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC/HNC or equivalent in engineering.
• Experience in automated manufacturing environments.
• Experience programming, fault finding and repair of servo or inverter systems.
• Practical knowledge of CI tools and techniques.
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical and electronic manuals and drawings.

Responsabilités

• Maintain and improve a variety of manufacturing equipment across site.
• Implement maintenance activities to meet the production plan and minimise downtime.
• Support engineering and manufacturing to maximise utilisation of equipment and achieve KPIs.
• Identify critical spare parts for assets across site.
• Support SIC meetings to improve line availability and task close-out.

A full time, permanent opportunity has arisen at our Barnsley site for a Maintenance Engineer to join the team. You will be a fully engaged team member, with flexibility to efficiently problem solve, report, maintain and improve a variety of manufacturing equipment across site. The successful candidate will:

• Ensure that plant and equipment systems perform to manufacture product efficiently to high-quality standards;
• To implement maintenance activities, ensuring that the manufacturing team achieve full compliance to the production plan, by minimising engineering downtime;
• To support the engineering and manufacturing functions ensuring maximum utilisation of engineering equipment in order to achieve KPIs and optimal line efficiency within the company safety, quality & environmental policies;
• Critical spare parts identification for assets across site;
• To support manufacturing team through the daily and Short Interval Control (SIC) meeting structure to achieve efficient and effective close out of tasks to improve line availability. Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in engineering for example - Level 3 Electrical/electronic engineering or similar;
• Previous experience of automated manufacturing environments;
• Experience of programming, fault finding and repair of Servo or inverter driven systems;
• Practical knowledge of CI tools and techniques;
• A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings. Life assurance;
