Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Poole, Dorset to join a leading manufacturing team.

You will respond to machine breakdowns, carry out preventative maintenance, and support continuous improvement initiatives to minimise downtime and maximise reliability.

The role offers an attractive salary band of £50,000–£52,000 with bonus and extensive overtime opportunities across a Monday–Friday pattern.

Qualifications

• Continuous improvement knowledge required.
• Strong knowledge of good engineering standards.
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing or production environments.

Responsibilities

• Respond to machine breakdowns to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
• Execute preventive maintenance plans and reactive tasks as directed.
• Apply root cause analysis tools and 5S to drive improvements.
• Support a culture of Continuous Improvement by engineering out recurring issues.
• Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance.
• Accurately record maintenance tasks on an electronic reporting system.

Our client is a leading manufacturer that is dedicated to producing products that's quality is recognised as second to none. With a strong order book and due to growth into various export markets they are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team.

Role & Responsibilities

• Respond to machine breakdowns with a view to minimising downtime and improving long term machine reliability
• Execution of the Lead/Senior Maintenance Engineer's plan to work preventatively in addition to reactively
• Use of appropriate root cause analysis tools & 5S
• Actively support a culture of Continuous Improvement, looking at ways to engineer out persistent problems
• Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance
• Accurately record all maintenance tasks performed on an electronic reporting system

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Formal Engineering Qualification - C&G Level 3, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship trained
• Continuous improvement knowledge
• Strong knowledge of good engineering standards
• Experience in Engineering, manufacturing or production environments
