Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Shepton Mallet to join a leading manufacturing team. You will respond to breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, and drive continuous improvement to improve machine reliability and reduce downtime.

Applicants should hold a formal engineering qualification and have experience in engineering/manufacturing environments. The role offers a continental shift pattern, onsite parking, life assurance, and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Formal engineering qualification such as C&G Level 3 or NVQ Level 3.
• Experience in engineering environments, preferably manufacturing.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Respond to machine breakdowns to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
• Execute preventative maintenance per the plan and react to issues as needed.
• Apply root cause analysis and 5S to drive improvements.
• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance.
• Record maintenance tasks on an electronic system.

Our client is a leading manufacturer that is dedicated to producing products that's quality is recognised as second to none. With a strong order book and due to growth into various export markets they are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team.

Role & Responsibilities

• Respond to machine breakdowns with a view to minimising downtime and improving long term machine reliability


• Execution of the Lead/Senior Maintenance Engineer's plan to work preventatively in addition to reactively


• Use of appropriate root cause analysis tools & 5S


• Actively support a culture of Continuous Improvement, looking at ways to engineer out persistent problems


• Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance


• Accurately record all maintenance tasks performed on an electronic reporting system

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Formal Engineering Qualification - C&G Level 3, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship trained


• Continuous improvement knowledge


• Strong knowledge of good engineering standards


• Experience in Engineering, manufacturing or production environments
