Job summary

UK Manufacturer in Poole, Dorset is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (mechanical or electrical) to join their engineering team on a continental shift pattern. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and use CMMS to manage assets and plan routines.

A background in electrical and/or mechanical fault finding, plus PLC familiarity, is essential. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and being a hands-on team player will help you thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience as a maintenance engineer within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with PLC-controlled and automated machinery (Siemens, Allen Bradley, or similar).
• Relevant engineering qualifications (apprentice trained, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• A team player with excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime and keep production on track.
• Respond to breakdowns, fault-finding, and repairs across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Use the site's CMMS to record work, manage assets, and plan routines.
• Support continuous improvement projects and contribute ideas to enhance reliability and efficiency.
• Work closely with the wider team to promote a positive, proactive engineering culture.

Pay: circa 52,000 - 54,00 per annum
