Maintenance Engineer role based in Wakefield, UK, joining a growing team responsible for maintaining power generation facilities in renewable energy environments. You will work hands-on on plant equipment, perform preventative and breakdown maintenance, and help improve system reliability.

The role offers £55,000 plus company benefits, Monday to Friday 8am–4pm, with enhanced overtime rates. You will diagnose faults, overhaul components, and support outages and commissioning to keep plants

Maintenance Engineer

We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join a growing team responsible for maintaining power generation facilities.

This is a varied role where you’ll be working on plant equipment in renewable energy environments, carrying out maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and helping improve system performance and reliability.

What you’ll be doing

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all mechanical plant equipment in accordance with the maintenance schedule.


• Carry out reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs to minimise plant downtime.


• Diagnose mechanical faults and identify root causes of equipment failures.


• Overhaul, repair and replace mechanical components including bearings, gearboxes, pumps, valves, conveyors and rotating equipment.


• Assist with major planned outages, shutdowns and annual maintenance activities.


• Conduct equipment inspections and condition monitoring to identify potential failures.


• Complete precision alignment, lubrication and mechanical fitting activities.


• Support commissioning, testing and reinstatement of plant following maintenance works.
