Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on production machinery.
• Diagnose faults and minimise production downtime.
• Provide engineering support to production and maintenance activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve machinery, processes and equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair activities.
• Develop and maintain maintenance procedures in line with food safety standards.
• Support the installation and modification of equipment.
• Implement cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards.

Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical)

Are you a Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical background, looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday position within a well-established food manufacturing business, offering excellent earning potential and long-term progression?

Do you have experience maintaining production machinery and hold a recognised mechanical apprenticeship, and want to join a family-run company where you can play a key role in keeping production running efficiently?

This well-established family-run business specialises in the manufacture, wholesale and distribution of British and Continental cheeses and fine foods. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add a skilled Maintenance Engineer to their team.

In this role, you will provide hands‑on engineering support across the production site, carrying out fault finding, breakdown repairs, PPMs and continuous improvement projects. You will work closely with production to minimise downtime while ensuring all maintenance activities meet the company's food safety, quality and health and safety standards.

This is a Monday-to-Friday position, working 07:00 - 16:00, offering a strong work‑life balance alongside the opportunity to develop your engineering skills within a specialist manufacturing environment.

The Role:

• Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar background
• Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment
• Full UK Driving Licence
