Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer for an established food manufacturing site in Wrexham. The role involves maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment within a high-volume, regulated environment, with a continental shift pattern (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am).

Day-to-day duties include planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, supporting production for optimal efficiency, and adherence to health & safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline (or equivalent).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (food, FMCG, or similar highly regulated sector).
• Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• A proactive, team-focused approach with good communication skills.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and make sound engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
• Quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Support production teams to ensure machinery operates at optimal efficiency.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks in line with site schedules.
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health & safety, food safety, and quality standards.
• Accurately record maintenance activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with equipment improvements, breakdown root cause analysis, and minor project work.
• Work effectively on a continental shift pattern, handing over clearly between shifts.

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Shift Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing site in Wrexham. Operating within a high-volume, fast-paced environment, you\'ll play a key role in ensuring production equipment runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on problem-solving and working as part of a collaborative shift team.
