Job summary

TipTopJob in Hoddesdon is seeking a multi-skilled maintenance engineer to join a growing local business that benefits from the security of being part of a multi:billion:pound global industrial manufacturer. The role focuses on reactive maintenance of production machinery, site services and utilities, with duties spanning hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes and electrical PLC fault finding.

Applicants should be apprenticeship trained with an engineering NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or higher and

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship trained
• NVQ or City and Guilds Level 3 or higher in engineering
• Must have worked in some form of manufacturing environment
• Team player and positive character
• Electrical biased skills: PLC fault finding, wiring/repairs control panels, sensors, switches
• Mechanical biased skills: fabrication, fitting, welding, machining: milling, turning, grinding, lathes

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance and repairs of all production machinery, industrial processing equipment, site services and utilities
• Dealing with hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, rollers, belts, drives
• Follow PPM schedules, continuous improvement projects
• Electrical: PLC fault finding, repair and wiring control panels, switches, sensors, contactors
• Mechanical: fabrication, fitting, welding, manual machining to make parts/repairs

Role And Responsibilities Of a Maintenance Engineer

• Carry out reactive maintenance and repairs of all production machinery, industrial processing equipment, site services and utilities
• Dealing with hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, rollers, belts, drives
• Follow PPM schedules, continuous improvement projects
• Electrical : PLC fault finding, repair and wiring control panels, switches, sensors, contactors

Knowledge, skills and experience need to be a maintenance engineer:
