The Maintenance Engineer role offers a great opportunity for individuals seeking to develop their skills and contribute to the company's growth by maintaining high standards and ensuring compliance across our portfolio of buildings. Working within the operations team and reporting to the Head of Property, the position involves routine building maintenance. After initial onboarding, the Maintenance Assistant will receive ongoing training and guidance from the Head of Property to perform scheduled and non-scheduled tasks effectively.

The Role

• Carry out scheduled maintenance and testing (e.g., fire alarm call point testing, water flushing).
• Perform reactive tasks assigned via our system to meet brand standards.
• Address maintenance issues promptly, following our daily procedures.
• Perform end-of-tenancy painting and decorating.
• Adhere to policies and procedures.
• Manage cleaning standards, ensuring buildings are left tidy after work completion.
• Organize and update supplier and stock information.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels.

General Tasks (training provided)

• Decorating (painting, sanding, filling)
• Moving furniture
• Low voltage electrical works (e.g., changing light bulbs, PAT testing)
• Hanging whiteboards, TVs, clocks, etc.
• Building furniture

Requirements

• 5 GCSEs grade C or above or equivalent international qualification (preferred but not essential)
• Interest in DIY and maintenance
• Willingness to learn and develop practical skills on the job
• Basic skills in plumbing, carpentry, minor electrical work, and painting/finishing trades
• Ability to use smartphone applications
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
