Zusammenfassung

Hewett Recruitment is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer (Electrical & Hydraulic) to support a high-volume automotive manufacturing site in the UK. You will diagnose faults across electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and perform reactive and planned maintenance on injection moulding machinery and robotics.

The role requires hands-on experience with PLC-controlled equipment, schematics reading, and a continental shift pattern (12-hour days and nights).

Qualifikationen

• Strong electrical fault-finding experience in manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience maintaining hydraulic systems.
• Experience maintaining automated production machinery.
• Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and fault diagnosis.

Aufgaben

Are you a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical fault-finding and hydraulic experience?

A growing automotive manufacturer is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team, maintaining high-volume injection moulding and automated production equipment.

This is a hands‑on role combining reactive maintenance, PPM and continuous improvement across a fast-paced manufacturing site.

The Role

• Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical faults.
• Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
• Maintain injection moulding machinery, robotics and automation equipment.
• Fault‑find on PLC‑controlled machinery and electrical systems.
• Diagnose hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders and control systems.
• Support root cause analysis and reliability improvements.
• Help improve equipment uptime, OEE and production efficiency.
• Support machinery upgrades and engineering improvement projects.

Essential Requirements

• Strong electrical fault-finding experience within manufacturing.
• Hands‑on experience maintaining hydraulic systems.
• Experience maintaining automated production machinery.
• Knowledge of PLC‑controlled equipment and fault diagnosis.
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Flexibility to work a continental shift pattern covering 12-hour days and nights.

Desirable

• Injection moulding machinery experience.
• Automotive manufacturing background.
• Siemens, Allen Bradley or Mitsubishi PLC knowledge.
• Robotics and automated handling experience.
• 18th Edition qualification.
• Knowledge of Lean, TPM and OEE principles.
