Electrical Shift Engineer
Salary: £46,500 + overtime
Location: Halifax
Shifts: Days & Nights (Continental Shift Pattern)

Working within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on a range of plastic extrusion and injection moulding equipment, alongside supporting continuous improvement projects to maximise plant reliability and performance.

Non‑Negotiable Requirements
- Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias.
- Minimum NVQ Level3 Engineering Qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work a continental days and nights shift pattern.
Requirements
- Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- Mechanical maintenance experience on industrial machinery.
- Experience working within manufacturing, production, processing, plastics, FMCG, packaging, recycling, logistics, automation or similar industrial environments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience maintaining plastic extrusion or injection moulding machinery.
- 17th or 18th Edition Electrical Qualification.
- Apprentice trained or equivalent.
- Experience using CMMS systems.
- Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within the UK.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on manufacturing equipment.
- Support continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades.
- Reduce downtime through effective breakdown response.
- Complete maintenance documentation and work orders accurately.
- Assist with machinery installations and commissioning activities.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to maximise equipment performance.
