Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Manufacturing & Maintenance Engineer to support day-to-day production, equipment maintenance and process improvement. The role involves programming and validating manufacturing equipment, diagnosing faults and developing maintenance programmes to maximise uptime and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing engineering, maintenance engineering or similar role.
• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Experience developing and implementing preventative and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
• Experience with manufacturing process improvement and continuous improvement techniques.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.

• Support day-to-day manufacturing operations and provide technical support to production.
• Create, validate and maintain programmes for automated and programmable manufacturing equipment.
• Carry out first-level maintenance, repairs and fault diagnosis on production equipment.
• Diagnose machine faults, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programmes for new and existing equipment.
• Support installation, commissioning, validation and handover of new manufacturing equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Establish and improve manufacturing processes throughout the product lifecycle.
• Use root cause analysis to resolve production and assembly issues.
• Create and maintain manufacturing and process documentation.
• Develop process documentation and train personnel on new and existing processes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity and equipment reliability.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing & Maintenance Engineer to support day-to-day production, equipment maintenance and manufacturing process improvement.

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming and validating manufacturing equipment, diagnosing and repairing machinery faults, and developing maintenance programmes to maximise equipment uptime, reliability and efficiency.

The Role

• Support day-to-day manufacturing operations and provide technical support to production.
• Create, validate and maintain programmes for automated and programmable manufacturing equipment.
• Carry out first-level maintenance, repairs and fault diagnosis on production equipment.
• Diagnose machine faults, identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programmes for new and existing equipment.

• Ensure machine safety systems and guarding remain fully functional and compliant.
• Work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to resolve equipment, process and product issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity and equipment reliability.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in a manufacturing engineering, maintenance engineering or similar role.
• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Experience developing and implementing preventative and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Experience working within an electronics manufacturing would be beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, assembly drawings, technical manuals and technical documentation.
• Understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
• Experience with manufacturing process improvement and continuous improvement techniques.
• Understanding of project management principles.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
