Job summary

Hunter Selection Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a Chard-based role (EH28780) in Somerset. A salary of GBP42,500–GBP45,000 per annum is on offer, plus double days and study leave.

The role involves responding to machine breakdowns, executing preventative maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement to improve reliability. 33 days holiday and an enhanced benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• Formal Engineering Qualification required (C&G Level 3/NVQ Level 3/Apprenticeship)
• Continuous improvement knowledge
• Strong knowledge of good engineering standards
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing or production environments

Responsibilities

• Respond to machine breakdowns with a view to minimising downtime and improving long term machine reliability
• Execute the Lead/Senior Maintenance Engineer’s plan to work preventatively in addition to reactively
• Use of appropriate root cause analysis tools & 5S
• Actively support a culture of Continuous Improvement, looking at ways to engineer out persistent problems
• Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance
• Accurately record all maintenance tasks performed on an electronic reporting system
