Job summary

Severfield UK Limited is seeking a Maintenance Engineer at the Lostock, Bolton site to ensure the correct maintenance of all machinery and facilities. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, coordinating downtime with the production team to minimise disruption.

Qualifications include NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or time served, with a strong electrical bias and 18th edition qualifications. Experience with overhead cranes, CNC machines and welding plant is desirable, and Shire software

Responsibilities

• Respond swiftly to unexpected machinery breakdowns to restore operations safely and efficiently.
• Understand the operating procedures of all equipment and their role in the production process.
• Make recommendations to reduce downtime and improve processes.
• Recommission machines post-repair and identify parts required for smooth operation.
• Complete relevant permits to work and adhere to Health & Safety procedures.
• Use Shire software for maintenance tracking and reporting.

In the Maintenance Engineer position, you will ensure the correct maintenance of all Severfield’s machinery and facilities at the Lostock, Bolton site. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on plant and machinery, communicating downtime effectively with the production team to help allocate resources and minimise disruption.

Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Responding swiftly to unexpected machinery breakdowns to restore operations safely and efficiently

To be successful in this role you will need to be educated to NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or time served with a multi skilled background, preferably with a strong electrical bias, as well as 18th edition electrical qualifications. With substantial experience using similar equipment such as overhead cranes, CNC machines, welding plant, general planned maintenance, and use of Shire software.
