Job summary

Severfield is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for the Lostock, Bolton site to maintain plant and facilities, perform planned and reactive maintenance, and coordinate with production to minimise downtime.

The role requires an NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or time served with a multi-skilled background, with a strong electrical bias and 18th edition qualifications. Shire software is used for maintenance tracking.

Responsibilities

• Responding swiftly to unexpected machinery breakdowns to restore operations safely and efficiently
• Understanding the operating procedures of all equipment and their role in the production process
• Making recommendations to reduce downtime and improve processes
• Recommissioning machines post-repair and identifying parts required for smooth operation
• Completing relevant permits to work and adhering to Health & Safety procedures
• Using Shire software for maintenance tracking and reporting

Vacancy Details

In the Maintenance Engineer position, you will ensure the correct maintenance of all Severfield’s machinery and facilities at the Lostock, Bolton site. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on plant and machinery, communicating downtime effectively with the production team to help allocate resources and minimise disruption.

Other Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To

• Responding swiftly to unexpected machinery breakdowns to restore operations safely and efficiently
• Understanding the operating procedures of all equipment and their role in the production process
• Making recommendations to reduce downtime and improve processes
• Recommissioning machines post-repair and identifying parts required for smooth operation

To be successful in this role you will need to be educated to NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or time served with a multi skilled background, preferably with a strong electrical bias, as well as 18th edition electrical qualifications. With substantial experience using similar equipment such as overhead cranes, CNC machines, welding plant, general planned maintenance, and use of Shire software.
