Job summary

Kinetic plc in Blackburn, England, is seeking an experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a small team responsible for food processing machinery. The role offers a permanent contract with a salary of £48,000 per year plus overtime, and options for a 4 on 4 off days and nights (no Saturday nights) or a permanent 18:00–06:00 shift.

• Experience with food processing machinery.
• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge.
• Experience in FMCG engineering environments.
• Apprenticeship and electrical engineering qualifications required.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a small team of multi-disciplined engineers.
• Undertake PPMs on equipment.
• Repair faults and record actions to identify recurrent faults.
• Liaise with Engineering Manager and Senior Engineer to source parts.
• Minimise downtime after breakdowns.
• Continually develop skills.
• Comply with health, safety and environmental policies.

Job description

• Work as part of a small team of multi-disciplined engineers
• Undertake PPM's on equipment
• Action repairs and ensure all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised
• Liaise with the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineer to ensure the supply of appropriate parts
• Minimise the amount of downtime suffered by the site following machine breakdowns
• Continually develop your skills and knowledge
• Comply with all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

Skills required

• Strong Electrical and Mechanical knowledge and ability on Food processing machinery
• Process control knowledge.
• Competent in building electrical control systems from switchgear through to software implementation.
• Engineering apprenticeship and associated qualifications such as BTEC ONC, HNC, HND in Electrical Engineering is essential.
• Have a proven track record in an Engineering and fault-finding role gained from within a FMCG environment.
• Have a good understanding of HACCP, COSHH and GMP principles
• Drive Root Cause Analysis and strive to prevent re-occurrence with counter measures.
• PLC fault finding.
• CMMS experience and knowledge.
• Ability to deploy and execute the preventative maintenance strategy for the site.
