Far'n'Beyond Ltd. in Bedale seeks a proactive Maintenance Engineer to keep a fast-paced food production line running safely and reliably.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and work with production teams to improve equipment performance in a hands-on role.

The role offers an 8am start, 4 on/4 off shifts, and an hourly rate that is competitive and negotiable based on experience. Training and development opportunities are provided to support career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing preferred.
• Strong fault-finding ability and understanding of mechanical/electrical systems.
• Proactive and adaptable with good problem-solving skills.
• Right to Work in the UK; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on production machinery.
• Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose faults and perform effective repairs.
• Collaborate with production to optimise machine performance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and safety standards.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Contribute to site development projects.

• Core Hours:Monday - Friday (40-52 hours per week)

About You:

We’re keen to speak with Maintenance Engineers who have experience within manufacturing environments, ideally FMCG or food production, although this is not essential. Our ideal candidate will be a proactive and adaptable individual with strong fault-finding skills and a solid understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in a Maintenance Engineering role, preferably within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment.


• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.


• Proven fault-finding and problem-solving ability.


• Experience with machine maintenance and breakdown response.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Flexible approach to shifts and business needs.


• Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent) would be desirable but not essential.


• Due to the nature of this role, candidates must have a permanentRight to Work in the UK, residing within a commutable distance to Bedale.Please note, our client cannot offer visa sponsorship for this position.


• Driving Licencerequired.

The Role:

As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of production operations. Working closely with production teams, you’ll help maintain high standards of performance, safety, and reliability across all equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of production machinery.


• Responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.


• Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs.


• Working collaboratively with production teams to optimise machine performance.


• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.


• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety, and food safety standards.


• Assisting with installation and commissioning of new equipment.


• Contributing to ongoing factory development projects.
