Job summary

Castle Employment Agency Ltd is seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a well-established food manufacturing business in the Bridlington area. The role offers a salary of £45,000 - £48,000 and Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm with some flexibility.

You will carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on production and packaging equipment, diagnose faults, and support PLC diagnostics to keep downtime to a minimum while maintaining food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG environments.
• Ideally mechanically biased with good electrical skills.
• Confident fault finding across production and packaging machinery.
• Proactive, reliable and able to take ownership within a small team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance across production and packaging machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and respond to breakdowns.
• Maintain conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, sensors, drives and inverters.
• Work across mixing, cooking, forming, cooling, conveying and high-speed packaging equipment.
• Fault find pneumatic systems, single and three-phase electrics and automated machinery.
• Support PLC fault finding and diagnostics.
• Assist with machinery installations, modifications and engineering improvements.
• Carry out root cause analysis and identify opportunities to improve reliability and line performance.
• Work closely with production while maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and Health & Safety standards.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing business in the Bridlington area.

Salary: £45,000 - £48,000, negotiable DOE

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm, with some flexibility

Holiday: 25 days + 8 bank holidays

Working as part of a small, close-knit engineering team, you'll play a key role in keeping production running efficiently, reducing downtime and helping to develop a more proactive, preventative approach to maintenance.

The role:

• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance across production and packaging machinery
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and respond effectively to breakdowns
• Maintain conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, sensors, drives and inverters
• Work across mixing, cooking, forming, cooling, conveying and high-speed packaging equipment

About you:

• Previous maintenance engineering experience within food, FMCG or a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Ideally mechanically biased with good supporting electrical skills
• Confident fault finding across production and packaging machinery
• Ideally Level 3 Engineering qualified or equivalent
• Proactive, reliable and comfortable taking ownership
• Happy working within a small engineering team where everyone gets involved
